Visaid

Visaid

Visaid is a product that aims to equalize the social strata for the hearing impaired. The primary clinical management intervention for people with hearing loss is hearing aids, however, the majority (80%) of adults aged 55– 74 years who would benefit from a hearing aid, do not use them. One of several reasons for this is the social stigma around wearing hearing aids, particularly for seniors.

A mic within the device is tuned to the decibel range specific to the hearing aid of the wearer. When surrounding speaking volumes fall below that range, lights blink upwards to notify the person speaking that their volume has dropped below the audible hearing aid range. This brings the non-hearing impaired to accommodate the hearing impaired, as opposed to the other way around.
